January 50 Mile Challenge!

Walk, run or convert another fitness activity into mileage for January’s 50 mile challenge! You can track your distance by using your smartphone or watch, using many available apps such as Strava, Map My Fitness, Fitbit, Nike Running or Garmin. Or track your own distance if you don’t have access to a smart device.

Feeling social? Tag us in your photos each week @IslandRec #islandrec on Instagram or Facebook. One lucky winner will win a prize for the most mileage completed! All mileage must be completed by January 31 and be submitted online by February 2.

7th Annual Resolution Run and Salish Splash!

Island Rec invites you to take part in the 7th Annual Resolution Run 5k scheduled for a 10am start on Tuesday, January 1, 2022. This is a family and dog friendly fun run that travels up from Jackson Beach onto Pear Point Rd, left on Argyle, right on Mullis, right onto Spring, right onto Argyle, left onto Pear Point Rd and finishes at Jackson Beach. After the run join us for the Salish Splash, take an icy dip in the ocean to celebrate the New Year! There will be a fire built and snacks available. Please make sure to bring a change of clothes if you plan on splashing with us.

New Years Eve Community Celebration

Join Island Rec for its annual New Year’s Eve Community Celebration and count down the New Year with family, neighbors, and friends! It’s an all-ages affair filled with games, Wii dance station, crafts, dancing, wild hat making/parade/contest, bingo, celebratory selfie station, outdoor fire pit and smores!
