Guardian Veterinary Hospital begins servicing island pets and farm animals

Submitted by Guardian Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Melissa Guard and Dr. Blake Guard are the owners of the newest veterinary services in the San Juans. Blake is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he earned his Ph.D. in biomedical science and his DVM. He is a San Juan native and is very excited to be back home and bringing high-level care to the islands. Melissa is also a graduate of Texas A&M University where she earned her M.S. in biomedical science and her DVM. Dr. Mel, while not a San Juan native is proud to become a member of the community. She first came to the island in 2011 and knew this is where she wanted to live and raise her family with Blake.

As they finalize the location and plans for the new veterinary hospital to be located on San Juan Island, they are bringing their hospital to you. Stand by for the upcoming announcement about the convenient location of the new hospital.

The Guards will be providing veterinary services to small and large animals. Home and farm calls are available on San Juan Island beginning Sept. 8. In the future, the Guards will also be offering services to the surrounding islands.

Small animal services currently being offered include annual examinations, senior evaluations, and vaccinations. Large animal services include annual examinations, reproductive services, equine dental care, lameness rehab and evaluation, and vaccinations. A list of all available services will be coming forthwith to our website, www.guardianvethospital.com. The Guards will be bringing quality services and compassionate care to the animals on the San Juans.
