Folk duo to play at Lopez Center

Submitted by Mandy Fer and Dave McGraw

An internationally acclaimed San Juan Island Americana folk duo will perform on Lopez. Mandy Fer and Dave McGraw, along with longtime collaborator Thom Lord, will take the stage at the Lopez Center at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 22.

McGraw and Fer’s 2014 album “Maritime” charted at No. 1 on the EuroAmericana Chart for two consecutive months and was praised by The Telegraph for “…soulful songs, intuitive musicianship, and fine singing.” Together, their exceptional vocal harmonies coupled with Fer’s pioneering electric guitar work have become a vehicle to carry them around the world. The pair has honed their skills touring extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, sharing stages with fellow troubadours including Iron and Wine, Glen Hansard, Gregory Alan Isakov, Kelly Joe Phelps, Birds of Chicago and many others.

Winning over audiences anywhere from Alaska to Amsterdam, McGraw and Fer are harnessing much more than just the sun and wind with the worldwide release of their new album, “Off-Grid Lo-Fi,” which was recorded entirely with solar and wind-powered electricity.

Tickets for adults are $15 and youth are $8. They are available from Paper Scissors on the Rock, the Lopez Bookshop, Pachamama Apothecary and at lopezcenter.org.
