The fourth annual 2014 Salish Sea Early Music Festival opens on San Juan Island, Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Grange, at 7 p.m.
A series of performances on San Juan, Orcas and Lopez islands commences with “Flute, Lute and LOUIS XV” with Jeffrey Cohan on baroque flute, and John Lenti on theorbo (a longnecked lute) and baroque guitar at the Grange Hall in Friday Harbor.
The Salish Sea Early Music Festival features international soloists on period instruments, and great baroque chamber music by composers such as Michel Blavet, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Jean-Marie Leclair and Michel Corrette.
Additional performances: Monday, Jan. 20, 7 p.m., at Grace Church in Lopez Village; Tuesday, Jan. 21, 7 p.m., at Orcas Adventist Fellowship Church, in Eastsound. Admission: suggested donation: $15 or $20; series pass $60, 18 and under free.
