Auditions for ‘My Fair Lady’ Feb. 15 and 16

Director Susan Williams is holding auditions for one of the most beloved musicals of all times Feb. 15 and 16 at 6:30 p.m. The auditions for "My Fair Lady" (book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Frederick Loewe), will be held in the San Juan Community Theatre’s PARC Building, 70 Saltspring Drive.

Director Susan Williams is holding auditions for one of the most beloved musicals of all times Feb. 15 and 16 at 6:30 p.m.

The auditions for “My Fair Lady” (book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, music by Frederick Loewe), will be held in the San Juan Community Theatre’s PARC Building, 70 Saltspring Drive.

Williams and music director Dorothy Baker will be casting a variety of actors for this unforgettable musical, which began life in George Bernard Shaw’s play, “Pygmalion.”

Casting needs include:

— Professor Henry Higgins: age 35-55, baritone.
— Eliza Doolittle: age 18-35, soprano.
— Colonel Pickering: age 45-up, bass-baritone.
— Alfred P. Doolittle: age 40-up, bass-baritone.

— Freddy Eynsford-Hill: age 25-40, tenor.
— Mrs. Pearce: age 40-up, mezzo.
— Zoltan Karpathy: age 30s-40s, non-singing.
— Mrs. Higgins: age 55-up; non-singing.
— Mrs. Eynsford-Hill: age 50-up, non-singing.
— Harry and Jamie: any age, tenor and bass-baritone.
— Chorus and Dancers: several minor but choice roles for the street scenes, the Ascot races and the Embassy Ball.
— Cockneys: 3-4 men, tight harmonies.

“My Fair Lady” will be presented on the theater’s Whittier stage on May 7-9, 13-15 and 20-22.
