A most magical event: Thompson, Bresee wedding

A look at a wedding on San Juan Island

On Saturday Aug. 6, during a perfect quarter moon, Sorelle Thompson of Friday Harbor and Brian Bresee of Eureka, Calif., were married at the home of the bride’s parents, Lloyd and Myah Thompson. In attendance were the groom’s mother and stepfather, Janice Bresee and Mike Esten of Mckinleyville, Calif.

The couple was married by the bride’s grandmother, Vivien Burnett of Friday Harbor, who offered her wisdom to the couple, who were piped down the isle to bagpipes played by John Burnett, the bride’s grandfather, of Monterey, Calif., and cousin Guthrie Burnett-Tyson of Friday Harbor.

The wedding party included, Juniper Thompson, Katie Carlton-Flerel and Baylee Corder. Standing up for the groom was Jesse Bodie, best man, and Nathan Thompson and Dustin Miller. Charley Sampson-Lawrence and Paige Carlton-Flerel, as the flower girls, scattered rose petals and skittles in the isle.

Sorelle and Brian’s 3-year-old pit bull Rio, marched down the isle in a perfect two-four beat.

One hundred and fifty  guests were treated to dinner and dancing during a most romantic and magical evening.

The Bresees live in northern California, where Brian works as a beach park ranger, and Sorelle will continue her education at College of the Redwoods.

We wish you all the best.
