Just a few weeks ago, I was facing foreclosure, and my poor financial situation seemed to be leading me into becoming one of the many homeless.

And then, in a period of 10 days, many people and agencies helped turn my life back right-side up again.

I want to thank the individuals at the San Juan Island Home Trust, Compass Health, the Episcopalian and Presbyterian Churches, the Family Resource Center, San Juan County Health and Community Services, Friday Harbor Village, and the many other people who made a special effort in a time of need.

I don’t think such fast and positive help could have happened anywhere else than in our special island community.
