Why try to fix something that isn’t broken? | Letters

Let’s not enter into litigation to fix something that isn’t broken - namely Peace Island Medical Center.

Let’s not enter into litigation to fix something that isn’t broken – namely Peace Island Medical Center.

Monica Harrington, Barbara Sharp and Bill Williams seem to think that litigation will make our hospital conform to Monica’s pet causes: providing abortion and assisted suicide.

Litigation is expensive, risky and unnecessary. Neither of these procedures is required by law of a critical care hospital such as ours. Abortion was not performed on San Juan Island before we had the hospital and assisted suicide is not done by hospitals.

Lets’ elect Hospital District Commissioners who have their priorities straight — the fiscal health and stable future of our EMS. Elect Michelle Loftus, Jenny Ledford and Doc Hancock.
