Thursday, Aug. 20, as I traveled to town along Pear Point Road, I was thrilled to see the three houses sponsored by San Juan Community Home Trust as they slowly proceeded up to their new neighborhood at Sun Rise II.

They had come off the barge Wednesday night at the Lafarge property beach. What a sight that must have been! These lovely houses will be settled on new foundations and fitted out for new owners at an affordable price.

And at re-sale, they will be affordable to the next owners. These houses will be permanently affordable for the people who work in this community but can’t afford the market prices of most homes here.

We are very fortunate to have San Juan Community Home Trust at work for our community.
