This year 2019 has ended and now we embark on a new decade. Carrying the tide for me is the presence of our San Juan County Land Bank.

Please read below the Land Bank’s mandate and join me in giving great thanks to the people who oversee the work with this organization.

The mandate: “To preserve in perpetuity areas in the county that have environmental, agricultural, aesthetic, cultural, scientific, historic, scenic or low-intensity recreational value and to protect existing and future sources of potable water.”

I hope you can get outside, on foot or by vehicle, by land or by sea, to spend time on one of our preserves.
