Support for Frank Penwell | Letter to the Editor

This is a response to the letter slamming all things Frank. One thing seems abundantly clear; everyone has their blind spot. Having spent the entirety of my life being “in with the out crowd and out with the in-crowd,” I had finally arrived at the stage of life where popularity in any one crowd is of little importance. Evidence, honesty, fairness, and compassion. Walk a mile in another’s shoes.

I get that this Frank dude is controversial. Whatever. Mentioning his first and last name and attaching the name to “chaos, arguments” three times, to three different island food fights is not only snarky but gives the person in question power that he maybe doesn’t deserve. And what about Community Treasures? For people lacking a long nose to look down upon others, that place is 1.) An absolute hit among thrifters, we are many! and 2.) Significantly provides an essential service to our community by providing a green alternative to filling the landfills with things that are no longer useful to one person or family, but can be put to good use by another. I say Kudos to the CT visionaries. Give credit where credit is due. When the next project becomes errant or misguided, remember, blind spots, empathy. Then try to deal with the facts, and also the nuances of the situation.

Trying to character assassinate by pointing out the targeted one’s lifetime blockbuster success, Really? Who has a blind spot?
