She’s free from liberal thinking

I am a former liberal. I know, I know, what was I thinking? Well, that’s just it — I wasn’t. I was “feeeeling.” Since my release, my freedom has been so sweet. I am no longer angry at the world. I no longer ask, “What is the government going to do for me?” I refuse handouts and work an honest day for an honest wage.

In response to the letter, “Maybe The Journal should be renamed ‘The Obama Weekly’,” in The Journal and SanJuanJournal.com:

I am a former liberal. I know, I know, what was I thinking? Well, that’s just it — I wasn’t. I was “feeeeling.”

Since my release, my freedom has been so sweet. I am no longer angry at the world. I no longer ask, “What is the government going to do for me?” I refuse handouts and work an honest day for an honest wage.

I no longer speak in visceral terms. I am responsible for my own actions, my own future. My government’s only mission is to protect me from foreign and domestic enemies. I will not leave my debt on the shoulders of others, nor will I allow my choices to affect others.

The sins of our fathers are not ours, but the sins we commit now are.

My heroes and idols are not in Hollywood or in the halls of Congress, they are those who served and serve us so well in war, those who sacrifice all so we sacrifice nothing.

I stand by no particular party. I stand for conservatism — the cure to liberalism, the opiate of the masses.
