S.P.O.T. finds homes for 700-1,000 cats and dogs per year on average

A rescue group based in Skagit County called S.P.O.T. (Saving Pets One At A Time) was there for these wonderful little dogs right from the start! S.P.O.T. dogs are placed in foster homes for a minimum of two weeks, giving the foster family time to evaluate both the personality and health of the dog. They are then available for placement in a new home.

This past year, I’ve been working with a high-kill shelter in central California rescuing small dogs and bringing them up to the Pacific Northwest (34 dogs and counting …).

S.P.O.T. is a very pro-active group willing to help out most adoptable dogs and cats on a space-available basis. Between the cat and dog foster homes (of which there are about 12-15), they’ve taken in and re-homed 700-1,000 cats and dogs per year on average over the last five years.

To see what animals they presently have available for adoption, check out their Web site at www.savingpetsoneatatime.org. If you’re looking to support a companion animal group that really makes a difference, you’ll get a lot of “bang for your buck” with S.P.O.T.!
