It has been heartbreaking to see our live music venues close here in Friday Harbor. Live music and the arts improve the quality of life for locals and visitors alike. We have experienced a significant reduction in available venues and concerts in the last several years. With the closure of the Rumor Mill, the arson that burned Herbs to the ground and the decline of live music in general we believe strongly that there has been a loss of quality of life for everyone.

This open letter is an attempt to shine a spotlight on what we feel is a significant problem. Specifically, the lack of venues to come together as a community and sing, dance, blow off a little steam and enjoy live music.

We the undersigned would like to express our support for a new gathering spot where live music is fostered and encouraged.
