Life-saving care | Letter

I feel I must write and thank this community for having the wonderful group of EMTs and Peace Island Medical Center. If it were not for them, I would not be able to write this letter. In July, I had a small stroke. The EMTs were called and quickly got me to the medical center in time to be able to have the drug TPA administered to me. I think it is astounding that this small hospital had this miracle medicine available, and I am so grateful that it did. In the past, my husband had been airlifted off the island three times, and this time it was my turn. We are so fortunate to have the two medical air ambulance groups available.

I just had to write and publicly express my appreciation for all the outstanding medical teams we have working for us on the island. I also want to urge all those who can to subscribe to membership in the air ambulance organizations, thus ensuring their transport off the island if necessary. Also to support any fundraising done for the medical center. We are truly so fortunate to have them here
