Don’t get snubbed by law enforcement; Krebs for sheriff | Letters

I wrote to Sheriff Rob Nou three times and left voice mail messages—none of which ever got a reply. We asked deputy Krebs for help and he came to the rescue.

In the spring of 2013, The Sculpture Park was being robbed.

Someone was fishing money out of the donations box at the entrance to the park. All sculpture park expenses are paid from this box and we were being hit over and over, and over again.

We complained to the sheriff—we filed a formal complaint. I wrote to Sheriff Rob Nou three times and left voice mail messages—none of which ever got a reply.

We asked deputy Krebs for help and he came to the rescue. He met with us several times and ultimately conducted an all-night stake out, on his own time, and caught the thief who was later convicted and served jail time.

As an afterthought, Sheriff Nou did approve compensation for Krebs time spent on the stake-out.

This is the kind of extra effort that we can all expect from Ron Krebs—his dedication to his job is obvious. I cannot say the same about the current sheriff, who didn’t even have the courtesy to reply to repeated queries.

Ron Krebs will be a huge improvement in my opinion.
