I have lived on San Juan Island for 26 years and I still cannot get over the fact that our local government consistently rips up roads and makes them impassable during the busiest times of the year. I realize that the work needs to be done when it is not soggy, but I feel that they should at least allow businesses to operate during the disruption. They should make sure that one lane is always open and that consumers and owners can get to businesses in a reasonable amount of time. I really feel for the people with businesses on Web Street. There have been times when both accesses to Web Street have been closed off. Maybe a little more planning should be in order in the future.
