The Charter Review Commission has proposed some thoughtful amendments to our County Charter, and I encourage voters to give them careful consideration. Charter Amendment Proposition No. 3, establishing a Climate & Environment Commission, is most significant as it makes county government accountable by having a climate action plan and providing an annual progress report to the public for the next ten years. Can we afford to do anything less in the face of an existential climate crisis? Please vote to approve Charter Amendment Proposition No. 3.
