Allies go ‘green’ in show of support for embattled farmer | Letters

Our hope is that our quiet presence will demonstrate to everyone in the courtroom that we support the tradition of sustainable farming and agriculture in San Juan County and recognize that this legal case poses a threat to the economic potential that sustainable farming and agriculture suggests to our local economy.

We would like everyone to show that we’re in “Solidarity with Jenny” and our local farmers by wearing green this Friday, Feb. 27, in the Superior Courthouse, San Juan Island.

Please arrive 15-20 minutes before and peacefully attend the 1:30 p.m. hearing for a summary judgement.

The lawsuit is threatening her farm and agricultural use of a shared easement road into her farm. Our hope is that our quiet presence will demonstrate to everyone in the courtroom that we support the tradition of sustainable farming and agriculture in San Juan County and recognize that this legal case poses a threat to the economic potential that sustainable farming and agriculture suggests to our local economy.
