    Friday Harbor sales tax receipts are about $15,500 lower than in 2007, and hotel/motel tax receipts are about $10,000 lower than in 2007, according to a report from the Town Treasurer’s Office. But Town Treasurer Wendy Picinich said she expects the town will come out as budgeted: $950,000.

    The Friday Harbor Wolverines notched their third consecutive tennis win Sept. 23, obtaining a 3-2 victory at home Tuesday over Lake Stevens. The Wolverines lost to Coupeville on the road Thursday. Their record is now 3-1.

    There’s no place like home. A road-weary Friday Harbor volleyball team claimed its first match of the season with a three-game sweep at home Sept. 25 over Mount Vernon Christian. With the victory, the Wolverines put an end to a string of four straight losses, all of which came on the road, and cashed in big on their first match at home.
