Calling all San Juan Island artists, designers and those with a flair for creativity, the SJI Library is excited to announce our 2025 Library Card Design Contest. Two designs will be selected as winners, which will be featured on library cards in limited edition runs during the September sign-up month.
Thanks to generous sponsorship by the Friends of the San Juan Island Library, both winners will also receive a $100 cash prize. All submitted artwork will also be included in an online collection that will be viewable to the public after the contest’s conclusion.
The theme of this year’s contest is the summer reading theme: Color Our World. Anyone living on San Juan Island may participate. We are accepting entries of all types, including digital art or designs, photography or digitized copies of traditional media artwork (paintings, pastels, drawings, mixed media, etc.).
All designs must be original artwork or photography created by the participant. The use of AI to generate part or all of your image is not allowed.
Entries will be accepted between May 9 and June 30.
Full details about the contest, including the terms and conditions and the submission guidelines, can be found at the library’s website at sjlib.org/creators-circle/.
