Find out what all the hullabaloo is about when San Juan Island Grange No. 966 shines its spotlight on the county current-use farm and agriculture taxation program in the finale of its spring lecture series, Wednesday, June 18, at the grange hall in Friday Harbor.

Friday Harbor attorneys Carla Higginson and Jamie Grifo will offer insight about the constitutional underpinnings and legislative intent of the current-use program, which offer various tax breaks for farmland, as well as how the state-sanctioned program is administered and interpreted locally today, and what that means for property owners enrolled in the program and prospective applicants.

The program gets under way at 7 p.m., and will be preceded by a potluck, beginning at 6 p.m.
