Aaron Lane Cameron 1972-2015

On Friday evening, July 22, Aaron Lane Cameron currently of Belgrade, MT lost his life in a tragic rollover accident. Aaron, born on Sept. 10, 1972 in Reno, Nevada, was the first child of Jereld Lane Cameron and Janka Pauline Morawiec Cameron. Aaron has lived in many places during his short 43 years. Following his father, Aaron lived in Provo, UT; Friday Harbor, Wash.; Vancouver, B.C. Canada; Vero Beach, Fla; Seattle; and for the past 15 years, primarily Belgrade, MT. Aaron lived most of his younger days in Friday Harbor, attending elementary, middle, and high school on San Juan Island. When asked where he was from, Aaron always said Friday Harbor. Aaron’s move to Montana was again following his father, who had gone to work at Yellowstone National Park. Meeting a local girl, Ilima Orser of Gardiner, Mont., they fell in love and were married July 26, 2003 in Livingston, Mont.

Aaron is survived by his wife Ilima; his two children, Sheena Michelle (10), and Johnathan Lane (9); his parents Lane and Janka Cameron; and three siblings Rebecca (Evan) McAllister of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Andrew Cameron of Phoenix, Ariz., and Benjamin (Hillary) Cameron of Savana, Ga. Aaron is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, many of whom are assembling for his funeral at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel on Bridger View Drive in Belgrade, Mont. In life Aaron and Ilima both worked and often had to scrimp to make ends meet. In death, Aaron had very little life insurance. In lieu of flowers, a memorial web page has been set up at www.youcaring.com/ilima-sheena-and-johnathan-cameron-609560 for any who may wish to contribute to help with funeral costs and immediate living expenses.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, while passing a slower vehicle Aaron went too far to the left onto the soft shoulder and lost control. While trying to regain control, he overcorrected and left the right side of the road into a drainage swale, causing the vehicle to roll several times. There were no other contributory factors to the cause of the accident. Speed was not involved and Aaron was wearing his seat belt.
