Orcas man faces drug, weapon charges following Rosario-area bust

An Orcas Island man was arrested Friday on drug and weapons charges at his home in the Rosario neighborhood.
The 40-year-old was taken into custody after San Juan County Sheriff’s Department detectives and deputies, assisted by a Bellingham-based K-9 unit, served a search warrant at the man’s home. Authorities seized drugs, cash, scales, packaging materials and firearms, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
In addition to drug charges, the man, unidentified in a sheriff’s department press release, faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The man, scheduled to appear in court Monday, is in custody in the San Juan County jail.
The arrest is the culmination of extensive investigation into activity in and around the man’s Rosario-area home, according to the sheriff.
