Working with the San Juan Trails Committee and local equestrians, the San Juan Island Scout Troop and Sea Scouts built a needed replacement trail bridge on June 8.

Access to the English Camp National Historic Park and the Roche Harbor Highlands from the southwest necessitates negotiating the road edge for several miles in each direction.

Just north of Horse Trail Road, a significant drainage from both the park and highlands, empties into the road ditch and last winter washed away the old bridge.

Through a generous donation by Frontier Building Supply, the local Scouts hiked to the site from Camp Bogardus to build the replacement pictured here.
