County Council April 10, 2023
At a brief San Juan County Council meeting, council members noted the state legislature was entering the budget deadline and they were watching school funding and capital budget outcomes. The county is planning to put out a public online survey on citizens’ priorities and thoughts on public works including marine facilities, roads, culverts, road shoulders, and bike lanes as well as threats to infrastructure from flooding and coastal erosion. They hope to get wide participation. Information about the survey and links will be available at: https://engage.sanjuancountywa.gov/how-should-your-roads-work-for-you.
Counties nationwide are considering establishing a research organization to provide data and analysis on the impact on counties of federal lands.
