Lecture series continues with presentation on shipwrecks

The next lecture in the San Juan Nature Institute sponsored Whiteley Lecture Series is Derek Smith, Ph.D. student, Jan 29., 7 p.m., at the UW Friday Harbor Labs. Smith is a veteran diver, and underwater photographer.

During his presentation, entitled “Shipwrecks: artifical habitats for marine communities,” Smith will talk about his European adventures exploring ancient shipwrecks.

Smith is conducting similar research on San Juan Island and will share his latest discoveries.
