Wolverines to host Blaine in post-season opener—tonight, in Turnbull Gym

The Friday Harbor boys basketball team, winners of eight of their last nine games, will open post-season play tonight, at home, in a rematch against the Borderites of Blaine High School.
Tip off is 5 p.m. in Turnbull Gym.
Friday Harbor (7-0 league, 12-8 overall) will carry a five-game win streak into the Northwest Conference 1A playoff opener, including a Northwest 1A/2B League title-clinching 75-70 victory at home, Feb. 6, over Cedar Park Christian.
The Wolverines, undefeated in league play, at 7-0, put an exclamation point on their second-straight league title on the road, Feb. 7, wrapping up a 20-game regular-season schedule with a 58-11 win over Shoreline Christian.
In their first meeting of the season, Friday Harbor sealed a 63-56 win at home over Blaine, Feb. 1, with a gritty defensive stance in the fourth and final period of the contest.
The winner of tonight’s post-season opener will face the winner of a Monday match up between Mount Baker and Kings, with the losers squaring off in the consolation bracket in a loser-out contest.
The Friday Harbor girls basketball team will open post-season play on the road Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Kings High School. The Wolverines (3-4 league, 8-12 overall) closed out the regular season with consecutive wins, a 56-43 win at home, Feb. 6, over Cedar Park Christian, followed by a 45-39 victory over Shoreline Christian on the road, Feb. 7.
