Claire Burke graduates from Evergreen State College | Newsmakers

Claire Burke, daughter of Cynthia and Christopher Burke of Friday Harbor, graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia on June 11.

Comedian Josh Blue was the guest commencement speaker.

Burke earned an undergraduate liberal arts degree; her focus was childhood education with an emphasis on children’s theater and working with youth in alternative schools. She is interested in teaching children and youth in the outdoors — farming, recreational, etc. She also studied organic and biodynamic farming.
