Wolverines rout Cedar Park Christian for win No. 4 | Baseball

Friday Harbor shattered a scoreless tie in the third inning with a barrage of extra-base hits, and then buried the overmatched Lions in their next two at-bats to seal a 19-1 win, Thursday, at Hartman Field.

The Wolverines didn’t need five full innings to pocket their fourth-straight win of the season.

They shattered a scoreless tie in the third inning with a barrage of extra-base hits, and then buried an overmatched Cedar Park Christian squad in their next two at-bats to seal a 19-1 win, Thursday, at Hartman Field.

Junior Austin Lambright earned the win with three innings on the mound. Sophomore Otis-Cooper ignited the third-inning fireworks with a lead-off double, and Gabe Lawson, Peter Holt, James Asher and catcher Gavin Guard all followed with doubles of their own.

Sophomore Isiah Hauck notched the first RBI of his prep career with an RBI groundout in the third-inning slugfest.

The home win over the young Lions marks the fourth in four outings for the Friday Harbor baseball team.

The Wolverines, leading 6-2 in the seventh, withstood a last-inning rally by Granite Falls, including a three-run homer, to net a 7-6 victory at home Monday. Junior Brandon Lambright earned the win against Granite Falls, and gave his cause on the mound a boost with a double and a home run at the plate. Sophomore southpaw Otis Cooper-West got the save on two-thirds innings of relief, and had a pair of RBIs.

While the Wolverines remain undefeated, at 4-0, Coach Rich Warin expects the Wolverines will face more fierce competition as the season rolls along.

“The hard games are still to come,” he said.

Friday Harbor is on the road, Saturday, to face Northwest 1A/2B League rival Darrington; game time is noon.
