Wolverines face South Whidbey Falcons | Football

The Wolverines football team played tough in Friday night’s game, on Sept. 29 against the South Whidbey Falcons. The Falcons scored the first touchdown in the second quarter and went on to score a second touchdown with 18 seconds on the clock before halftime. The Wolverines teamwork and defense was strong, despite the Falcons touchdown. Wolverine Wade Swirtz scored an epic touchdown seconds before halftime, making the score 7-12 with the Falcons hanging on to their lead. Tension was high in the third quarter when the Falcons got called out for unsportsmanlike conduct. Swirtz made the second touchdown for the Wolverines in the end of the third quarter, putting the Wolverines in a one-point lead. With 4:17 on the clock in the fourth quarter, the Falcons scored another touchdown and a 2 point conversion. The Falcons took the lead again with a score of 20 and Wolverines at 13. Milo Geiser received big cheers from the crowd for his fumble recovery with 1:33 on the clock in the fourth quarter. Swirtz, with a pass by Jaden Jones, scored another touchdown for the Wolverines making the outcome of the game hard to predict. However, the Wolverines ran out of time and lost to the Falcons with a final score of 19-20.
