Three miss cut; Matthew Porter a triple jump hopeful

Friday, Christine GrosJacques placed 16th in high jump, missing the cut of eighth place or better for the finals.

Whitney Porter cleared 4 feet 8 inches but, because of a conflict with competing in hurdles, she was unable to complete the high jump competition and finished 13th. In the 100-meter hurdles, she finished 13th with a time of 17.52.

Kelsey Barnes recorded a distance of 33 feet 41/2 inches in the shot put, placing ninth.

Matthew Porter competed in two of his three events Friday. His long jump was 19 feet 6 inches; it had not been determined where he placed. His time in the 400-meter dash was 51.67, earning him ninth place.
