The league is open to girls in grades 4-8; previous team experience is not required to participate. Games begin Feb. 5 and continued through March 11. All games are played Sunday afternoons in Turnbull Gym.

Friday is the last day to receive $5 off the registration fee for the upcoming Island Rec girls basketball league.

The league is open to girls in grades 4-8; previous team experience is not required to participate. Games begin Feb. 5 and continued through March 11. All games are played Sunday afternoons in Turnbull Gym.

Registration is $40. The deadline to register is Jan. 18.

Register by Friday, Jan. 6, and save $5 off the standard fee. Register online at www.islandrec.org of in person at the Island Rec office, 580 Guard St., 1-5 p.m. Scholarships are available; contact Rebecca Clarke for info, 378-4953.

The focus of the league is on development and improvement of individual and team skills. Volunteer coaches are needed.
