The Concrete Lions were no match for Friday Harbor’s boys basketball team, the Wolverines, at Friday’s game on Feb. 2. This was a change from the last battle against Concrete on Jan. 5, where the Wolverines lost by 1 point, 52-53. This game was the senior night for the Wolverines, which celebrated the two seniors on the team – Isaac Mayer and Rio Black.

The Wolverines took the lead in the first half of the game and, by half time, were 21 points ahead of the Lions. The score going into the third quarter was 31-10.

Teamwork remained strong among the Wolverines in the second half of the game. They held on to their big lead with an overall score of 46-22 going into the fourth quarter. Despite a shot sunk by the Lions with 3 seconds left on the clock, the Wolverines won with an 18 point lead. The final score of the game was 55-37.

On Tuesday, Jan. 30, the Friday Harbor Wolverines overtook the Orcas Vikings in overtime for the win with the score 55-50.
