The lady Wolverines made an important victory on Thursday, Oct. 5 at their home field.

The team showed great teamwork and determination against their league rivals, the LaConner Braves. The Braves scored the first goal in the first half but the Wolverines weren’t phased by the play.

Ava Hoffman scored first for the Wolverines in the second half, tying up the score. After a trip penalty on the Braves, the Wolverines had their chance at a second goal and Wolverine Abby Margolis nailed it.

There were a few close shots towards the end of the game, but neither team was able to score again.

The Wolverines celebrated their 2-1 victory on the sunny Linde-Carter field, knowing that they are now tied with LaConner for first place in the league.

The next home game is against Mt. Vernon Christian on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 4:30 p.m.
