Girls’ Soccer ties for first in the league

The Friday Harbor Girls’ soccer team tied for first in the league with a 9-1 record, beating visiting Mount Vernon Christian Oct. 17 with a score of 2-1. In a physical match, goals were scored by senior Abby Margolis and junior Ava Hoffman.

The Wolverines are currently in a first-place tie with rival La Conner, which was resolved on Tuesday, Oct. 24 when Friday Harbor traveled to La Conner for a 4 p.m. rubber match.

The regular season concludes on Thursday, Oct. 26 with a home game vs. Orcas at 3:15 p.m. According to Coach Paul Hopkins, the girls have a spot in the district playoffs, which begin as early as Monday, Oct. 30.
