Friday Harbor soccer, volleyball update

Girls soccer:

Friday Harbor girls soccer beat Orcas 8-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 26. This brings the Wolverines’ overall record to a first place at 4-0-2.

“Orcas has a new and good coach,” said coach Paul Hopkins, adding that he sees potential in many of the players, and is looking forward to watching the team developing those skills.

The Wolverines played South Whidbey on Saturday, Sept. 29. The final score was a tie, 1-1.

The girls go up against La Conner on Oct. 2 at the La Conner high school. The next home game takes place at 4:30 p.m., Oct. 24, taking on La Conner once more at the Linde Fields.

Boys Soccer:

On Tuesday, Sept. 25, the Friday Harbor boys soccer team beat Mount Vernon Christian 1-0. On Saturday, Sept. 29, the went up against the Lopez Lobos at Lopez. The boys won 4-3.

The next home game will be 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, where they face off against the Orcas Vikings.

Volleyball:

The Friday Harbor Volleyball team faced a tough game against Orcas Wednesday, Sept. 26, losing 3-2. On Saturday, Sept. 29 the girls played South Whidbey. The girls won 3-1. The next away game will be against LaConner on Oct. 2. The next home game will be Oct. 4, where the Wolverines face Concrete.
