Hoop season is here; coaches needed for boys recreational league

The 2014 season begins Oct. 27 and runs through Dec. 14. The Island Rec program focuses on building skills on the court and friendly competition for players and teams in three age categories: 3/4th grade, 5/6th grade and 7/8th grade.

Wolverines bounce back from back-to-back losses, trounce Cedar Park | Volleyball

The Wolverines gave up a combined five points in the first two games, and, substituting liberally in the third game of the best-of-five match, tallied a 25-14 win to seal a runaway win over Cedar Park Christian.

The Wolverines (6-3) sit in fourth place in league, which boasts four of the state's Top 10 Division 2B teams, including No.8 ranked Friday Harbor, as well as No. 4 ranked Mount Vernon Christian (8-0). Friday Harbor will host the league-leading Hurricanes Tuesday, Oct. 7; game time is 4:30 p.m.

With the win, the Friday Harbor girls soccer team tallied victory No. 4 in its last five matches, as well as its fourth consecutive win in league play, and also evened its three-game regular season series against the Braves at one game apiece.
