Friday Harbor lost to La Conner 2-1 at La Conner Oct. 1, ending a six-game winning streak that included 501 consecutive minutes without yielding a goal.

“The Wolverines played well but the Braves wanted it more this time in this long-standing friendly rivalry,” Friday Harbor Head Coach Mark Fishaut said.

La Conner opened the scoring in the third minute on a free kick. Emma Ytander answered at 14 minutes (assisted by Mandy Turnbull). La Conner got its second goal early in the second half on a corner. Friday Harbor pressed hard, taking numerous shots the remainder of the half but could not find the tying goal.

Next: The Wolverines (6-3 overall) traveled Oct. 8 to Concrete. They host North Sound Christian Oct. 13, 4:30 p.m.
