With two on the court, the Wolverines prevailed in a big way, taking seven of nine doubles matches and earning a victory on the road April 15 at Cavalero Mid High in Lake Stevens.

Cavalero, which boasts a freshman roster of more than 40, grabbed an early advantage with back-to-back wins in singles' competition. Senior Charlotte Guard dropped an 8-5 decision in the pairing of No. 1 singles, and Tori Riggins fared no better in the No. 2 contest, falling 6-1.

At that point, the bugle sounded and the cavalry came. Friday Harbor won three consecutive doubles' clashes to bag the match and padded the win with four more victories in non-match competition.

Jenny Dunn and Hannah Snow tallied a 8-3 victory in No. 1 doubles and Micky Leytze and Mandy Turnbull prevailed 8-4 in the No. 3 doubles bout. With the match on the line, Shanti Neff-Baro and Alex MacDonald had just enough ammunition to claim a tie-breaker, at 7-5, and clinch the match with a 8-7 victory in the No. 2 doubles' showdown.
