Wrestlers claim sweep in 3-team match at home | Wrestling

Friday Harbor started off a three-team with a win and kept up the pressure at home Dec. 12, as senior Oscar Churape (120) tallied an 18-6 victory in a fast-paced, high-scoring bout.

Xander Crichton followed suit with a 11-0 shutout, and sophomore Thomas Synoground (145) toppled his opponent for a two-point takedown in overtime to claim a 10-8 victory. In the end, the Wolverines defeated both Tacoma Baptist, 35-21, and Chief Leschi, 48-18, in the first of only two home matches of the season. Friday Harbor will next be at home to host La Conner Jan. 28.
