Kendra Meeker shot her best round of golf so far this year to clinch a third consecutive trip to the state 1A women’s golf championship.

The junior shot 78 over 18 holes to take second place a week ago at the Tri-District playoffs at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton, finishing as runner-up at the state-qualifying event to 2012 state champion Madison Bentley.

Senior Riley Rousar missed clinching a berth at the state tournament by five strokes, with a 95 at the Tri-District playoffs, finishing 44th among a field of 70. The 1A state tournament is May 21-22 at Lake Spanaway Golf Course in Tacoma.
