Learn to sail with Island Rec

Have fun this summer while learning a new lifelong recreational skill.

Opportunities for children 9 and older, including adults, are still open for Island Rec’s basic sailing classes for the week of June 16-20.

Aboard El Toros, participants will learn the basic skills necessary to become a competent sailor. A women’s-only class is scheduled July 11-13. Cost for these classes start at $135. Scholarships for San Juan Island children are available.

Island Rec, in partnership with the San Juan Island Sailing Foundation, provides a progressive series of sailing opportunities throughout the summer. For more information or to register, call Island Rec at 378-4953, visit in person at 580 Guard St., or visit www.islandrec.org.
