The Friday Harbor boys basketball team opens the 2012-13 season, Tuesday, on the road against Burlington-Edison.

Tip off at 5:45 p.m.; listen for broadcast of the game on Friday Harbor Tiny Radio, 1650 AM.

A Division 2A team, the Tigers clinched a sixth-straight trip to the state tournament a year ago, finishing the 2012-13 season at 13-8 overall, with 6' 7" senior post player Austin VonHerbulis leading the way.

The Wolverines, with four-of-five starters from a year ago back in the lineup, will be looking to improve on an overall record of 16-6 in the 2011-12 season and reclaiming the Northwest 1A/2B League title from defending league champ La Conner. The Wolverines, led by Coach Rod Turnbull, now in his 11th year at the helm, finished at 11-3 in league play a year ago.

Friday Harbor was ousted from post-season play in a 55-49 loss to Life Christian Academy in the opening round of the Tri-District Tournament a year ago.

On Saturday, the Wolverines travel to South Whidbey for a noon tip off against the Falcons, a regional 1A foe, and host Bear Creek in their home opener, Dec. 8; tip off is 1:30 p.m. in Turnbull Gym.
