The Friday Harbor volleyball team is on a roll.

Winners of the last two matches, including a victory in four games on the road Sept. 18 over Mount Baker, the Wolverines nudged their record over the .500 mark, at 2-1, with back-to-back victories. Following a straight-set loss to Orcas at home in their season opener, Sept. 11, Friday Harbor dispatched Division 2B Evergreen Lutheran in straight sets, 27-15, 25-21, 25-17, at home, Sept. 15, to even its record.

At Mount Baker, the Wolverines outlasted the Mountaineers 26-24 to grab the first game, and then took a 2-0 lead with a 25-17 victory the second game. After dropping the third, 25-19, they rallied to bag a hard-fought 25-23 win in the fourth game to seal the win.

“The girls played four very consistent and well-played matches,” Coach Travis Mager said of the victory at Mount Baker, a former Division 2A school that is competing this year at the 1A level.

Next: Friday Harbor faces Meridian on the road Thursday, and is home Saturday, Sept. 29, to host Nooksack Valley; match time is 1:30 p.m.
