The Friday Harbor softball team notched its third consecutive win with a decisive 8-2 victory on the road April 6 at Orcas.

The Wolverines cashed in on a flurry of fielding errors by Orcas in the second inning to grab a 5-0 lead and then kept the Vikings bottled up over the next five innings to seal the victory, the team's third straight league win.

Coach Nickie Davis praised the performance both in the field and at the plate. Sophomore Isabel Place hit safely in all four plate appearances plate and center-fielder Emily Guard chased down a couple of long fly balls to erase several Orcas scoring threats, Davis noted.

With the win, the Wolverines remain alone atop the Northwest 1A/2B standings, at 3-0, and improved to 3-2 overall.
