The Friday Harbor boys and girls basketball teams will open the 2011-2012 basketball season Saturday, at home, in back-to-back games against South Whidbey.

The girls team, with a veteran backcourt of three seniors at the helm, will be seeking a second straight season-opening win over the Division 2A Falcons. The Wolverines tallied a 67-28 victory over South Whidbey in their season opener a year ago. The two teams tip off at 4:30 p.m. in Turnbull Gym.

In the nightcap, the boys team will be looking to avenge last year's season opening loss in their non-conference clash against the Division 2A Falcons. Tip off is 6 p.m. in Turnbull Gym.
