San Juan Island will be the epic-center of a rockin' prep sports weekend beginning tonight, Friday, as the Friday Harbor football team hosts the Trojans of Meridian, a  Division 1A state tournament semifinalist a year ago, in a clash of regional rivals.

Kick off is 6:30 p.m. at the Friday Harbor High School football field.

On Saturday, the Friday Harbor boys tennis team, with two early season wins in tow, will square off against Coupeville for the second time this season. The match begins at 11 a.m. at the high school tennis courts. Also on Saturday, the Wolverines volleyball team opens the 2011 season at home, also against Coupeville. The match gets under way at 1 p.m., in Turnbull Gym.

The Wolverines soccer squad, with two shutouts to its credit, will be on the road, Saturday, seeking its first victory of the season at Port Townsend.
