Wolverines defeat Concrete, fall to Lynden Christian | Volleyball
September 29, 2010 · 1:48 PM
The Lynden Christian volleyball program has earned a reputation. And the Wolverines found out in a hurry just how powerful the perennially playoff-bound Lyncs can be.
Friday Harbor (1-2) fell in three straight as an overpowering Lyncs squad cruised to victory Sept. 25 on their home court. Lynden Christian (3-1) wasted little time in sealing the match by tallying scores of 25-12, 28-8 and 25-6 en route to the win.
“They’re a top-notch team, no doubt about it,” head coach Travis Mager said.

The Wolverines made quick work of the Concrete Lions, netting the match in three-straight games, in their season-opener Sept. 23 at Turnbull Gym.
The victory marks Friday Harbor’s first regular-season win and its first in Northwest 1A/2B League play this year as well. The team is improving with each and every match, Head Coach Travis Mager said.
“The pieces of the puzzle are coming together,” Mager said. “We’re getting people in the right spots on the floor.”
Next: The Wolverines host La Conner on Sept. 30, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Turnbull Gym.
They host Meridian on Oct. 2, 1:30 p.m.
