Fourth of July Parade: Have volunteers hand candy to kids only at the curb

The July 4 Parade was great! We all had a lot of fun, but we have a serious problem.

I am concerned about the safety of the children picking up candy during the parade. Big truck and fire truck drivers are very careful but they are unable to thoroughly monitor their rear wheels.

The best solution (and least popular) is to stop everyone from throwing candy to the kids. A compromise would be to have volunteers hand candy to kids only at the curb.
